THE GO-HOME VERDICT1. RAW grade — 8/10
Nashville put the major WrestleMania stories in motion with a clear ending in mind. Drew revealing Seth’s attack on Punk complicated the tag match, and the final confrontation made Oba look ready to challenge the World Heavyweight Champion. Those two threads strengthened Rollins’ importance without giving him another match.
The actual card needed its clean results. Paige beating Asuka and Brock beating Royce Keys supplied them. Breakker causing the MJF–Finn disqualification sharpened the Triple Threat, but another unresolved title match is still a cost. The Hardys dropping the friendly tone helped their rivalry; Paige’s private meeting added intrigue without requiring the audience to know what was said.
2. SmackDown grade — 4/10
As a complete show, Des Moines did not deliver one. Rock took over, threatened Cena in front of an ambulance, mocked Knight, challenged Skeletor and management, then canceled the broadcast. No matches. No second segment. That is a striking angle and a thin evening for anyone expecting SmackDown.
The takeover itself earns 9/10 as a segment. It gave Rock a distinct objective beyond the championship: make everyone recognise his authority. His irritation that WrestleMania continues after his main event was especially revealing. But a segment rating does not magically become an overall show rating.
3. Match of the week
Paige vs Asuka. I value the clear result and what it gives Paige heading into her Showcase with Liv Morgan. Brock’s win over Royce was useful too, but Paige’s victory carried momentum into a newly defined WrestleMania opportunity.
4. Moment and promo of the week
Moment: Oba dropping Seth and standing tall to close RAW. Promo: Rock’s ambulance address. The former sold a challenger’s readiness. The latter sold a man convinced the entire company is beneath him.
5. Superstar of the week / biggest winner
Oba Femi. He left the final RAW with the champion down and the Night 2 main event feeling urgent. Rock won the attention battle; Oba did more to make me want to see his match.
6. Biggest loser
SmackDown’s audience. A hostile monologue can be compelling, but a canceled show leaves the rest of the roster and the people in the arena without the evening they expected.
7. Story to watch
Punk’s condition. He remains scheduled beside Roman Reigns, and Seth’s attack has put pressure on both men before they even reach Atlanta.
8. One controversial take
Rock’s best character work should not become permission to swallow everyone else’s show. The takeover works because it is extraordinary. Repeat it too often and the rest of SmackDown starts looking optional.
Overall weekly verdict: 6.5/10. RAW earned its eight. SmackDown supplied a memorable angle at the expense of a complete broadcast. WrestleMania has the stakes; now it needs the payoff.
